The interested and eligible candidates are invited for a walk-in-interview to be held on 15 January, 2024 (Monday) at 11:00 AM

sharp in the Seminar Room of the Centre of Research for Development (CORD), University of Kashmir for filling a single position of

‘Senor Project Associate’ (SPA-1) available under the SERB, DST sponsored research project entitled “Forecasting distribution and connectivity of Asiatic black bear Ursus thibetanus under dimate change and human impacts through the lens of landscape genetics in North-Western Himalaya”. The position with monthly stipend of Rs. 42,000 (plus 16% HRA) is purely on temporary basis for a period of six months (initially). Extension of engagement, if any, will be entirely based on the P’s discretion w.r.t the requirement of the project. This is primarily a field based position where the researcher is expected to conduct extensive field surveys, to record field ecological data and collect biological sample for spatial and genetic analysis later including data visualization/statistical analysis, alongwith scientific writing as progress reports and research articles. Experience of conducting rigorous field work in Himalayan terrain with limited resources, and hands on using GIS based softwares and DNA extraction from non-invasive samples would be desirable. The candidate should be an Indian citizen with Masters Degree in Ecology/ Environmental Science/Wildlife Science/ Zoology with at least 55% marks, and must have at least four years of research experience after M.Sc in the concerned field. Only those candidates with age less than 40 years on the interview date are eligible for this position. The candidate must be a dedicated field worker, ready to trek, camp and stay in remote and rugged high-altitude terrain of North-Western Himalaya. The candidate should have prior experience of working in such difficult terrains with a multi-disciplinary career profile ranging from field ecology, molecular biology, GIS, to community based conservation.
